Abstract

|
Authors report one of the recently advocated methods for the treatment of serous otitis media. This method is the insertion of polyethylene tube after the paracentesis on the antero-inferior quadrant of tympanic membrane.
Author described the technique of insertion of the polyethylene tube and reviewed all the ¢¥problems involved in the treatment of serous otitis media.
By the insertion of polyethylene tube, we can prevent the tympanic cavity devoid of air and the trouble to repeat the paracentesis of tympanic membrane.
The inserted polyethylene tube could be kept in the position, as long as all predisposing factors for the effusion or vacum of middle ear cavity are disappeared.
